What is KONI Special Active?

KONI Special Active uses Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) to adapt to road conditions — improving comfort on rough surfaces while controlling body movement under load. It is ideal when maximum comfort with better handling is the priority.

How does Special Active differ from Sport and STR.T?

Special Active focuses on adaptive comfort and refined everyday manners. Sport emphasises adjustable performance damping. STR.T is a fixed-rate, entry sport option. Use the vehicle finder or contact Koni Direct if you are unsure which line fits your car and driving style.

Do Special Active dampers need manual adjustment?

Special Active dampers adapt automatically via Frequency Selective Damping and are not rebound-adjusted like many Sport dampers. Fitment and application must still match your vehicle exactly.

Is Special Active good for daily driving and long journeys?

Yes. Special Active is often recommended for drivers who want better composure than factory dampers without a harsh ride — including motorway miles, loaded cars, and mixed UK roads.

KONI Special Active dampers use patented Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) to adjust automatically to the road and your driving style – no sensors, cables or electronics. In a fraction of a second they firm up to control body roll and cornering forces, then soften over expansion joints and rough surfaces, ending the compromise between comfort and handling.
